In fall 2018, when we decided to establish a specialty shop and online store for car care products, it was clear that we needed to connect with major manufacturers like Meguiars, Sonax, and Gtechniq. Our goal was to deliver the highest quality at a fair price in every segment. Even though there are several manufacturers for "Microfiber Cloths" in Germany, production often occurs in China. We quickly realized that we did not want to depend on importers and trends that could lead to quality fluctuations. Thus, we contacted factories in China found through Google research and had them send product samples at high express shipping costs. Our initial wish to quickly find a suitable partner was soon disappointed. If the "Microfiber Samples" shed fibers and showed hard edges cut by laser or ultrasound, we were on the wrong track with these producers. Most of the samples came from China and Taiwan.

Just when you think it couldn't get worse, help arrives from unexpected places...
After we had almost given up our search for suitable production partners for drying towels, cleaning cloths, wash mitts, and polishing towels made of microfiber at the beginning of 2019, we unexpectedly received an email from a retired employee of a large US manufacturer of aircraft parts. The retiree was connected to our founder's family through several levels and offered to support us in our project. In addition to excellent contacts with some US manufacturers, he provided us with a connection to a small but fine manufacturer of "Microfiber Products" in South Korea. Hopeful, we awaited the first samples, and upon opening the package, we were confident to have found the right partner.
Microfiber Products from Selected South Korean Production with Intensive Batch Monitoring
Even though one might think everything was clear now, we still had to agree on materials, order quantities, cuts, processing methods, and many more small details. Because it’s about “every detail” in detailing. After further tests in washing machines, on different paint types with various detailers, coatings (ceramic sealants), and different water qualities (drying towels), we could finalize an initial order. What took a few sentences took almost half a year in reality. We couldn’t limit ourselves to one manufacturer; we had to consult our new friend, the retiree from the USA, again to see if he had further contacts for gloves and towels for applying ceramic sealants. After more tests and many conference calls, we found another suitable producer.
Now the question was, how do we name our microfiber products? We wanted to give them a resonant and international name. From a multitude of ideas, "Detail Passion" emerged, representing our commitment to producing microfiber products and indicating the intended use of the towels: "Passion for Detail." After "Detail Passion" became a registered trademark across Europe and the first deliveries arrived in fall 2019, Detail Passion became our line for microfiber products. Since then, each delivery has been quality checked by us through multiple random samples!

As I write this text, the latest project under this label is already underway: The Detail Passion Pad Manufacturing. High-quality sponge polishing discs, foam pads, and microfiber polishing pads from European production using foams and microfiber products from various manufacturers according to our specifications in different sizes. Here, too, we hit a home run because the quality, characteristics, and price are right.
