KAMOI Big Boss is a premium masking tape by the Japanese manufacturer KAMOI. This tape features excellent adhesive strength, complete polishability, and residue-free removal. KAMOI Big Boss is an alternative to the popular Kabuki-S tape. It is pink and slightly less flexible with a bit higher adhesion.

For many enthusiasts, the search for masking tapes admittedly begins at their local hardware store. However, masking tapes for painting are unsuitable for polishing, as these tapes are often rough and not designed for the strain of polishing. KAMOI Masking Tapes Kabuki-S and Big Boss from Japan: The Best Choice for Protection During Polishing

In selecting our product range, we rely on the expertise of the best detailers, with whom we have strong, friendly connections. We have learned that while the mentioned masking tapes are good, they still do not reach the level of the "best detailing masking tape". The combination of adhesion, polishability - without lifting edges and transferring adhesive to the polishing pad - and tear resistance remains unmatched. As a benchmark, we were shown KAMOI Kabuki-S, which originates from Japan.

Having already had three manufacturers of masking tape in our range, and always making product decisions through our own testing and evaluation processes, we intensively examined KAMOI masking tapes. KAMOI masking tapes come with 18 meters per roll and, due to their very small core, are significantly smaller than all other masking tapes. This quickly proves to be a significant advantage when working indoors or when masking small areas like emblems and logos. The strength combined with flexibility is astonishing, as the Kabuki-S tape feels almost rubbery and is very easy to apply around curves and corners. In tests with flour and activated charcoal - yes, you heard right - we found no noticeable adhesive residue after removal from either Kabuki-S or the slightly cheaper Big Boss. In summary, we can confirm: KAMOI masking tapes are the gold standard!

From Japan? That must be expensive!

As an official partner of KAMOI, we import the tapes directly from Japan and sell them in their original sealed packaging with up to 20 rolls. With the DETAILER set, we offer all available sizes in one sample set. Based on the meter price, we are on par with other masking tapes. With the slightly cheaper KAMOI Big Boss, a second color in pink is available. The Big Boss offers slightly stronger adhesive performance and a bit less flexibility. KAMOI Kabuki-S and Big Boss are approved for paint drying at 100 degrees Celsius for up to 30 minutes, making them the most popular tape among painting companies in Japan.
