Optimum No Rinse ONR Version 5 Wash & Shine is a car wash detergent that is also great for motorcycles, private planes, or boats. Optimum No Rinse is specifically designed for washing vehicles without the need to rinse off the paint afterwards. The polymer formula of Optimum No Rinse - known as ONR - forms a protective layer over the car paint and encapsulates dirt particles. This allows for easy, scratch-free removal of light dirt without rinsing the vehicle.

How to: Perform a Rinse-less Car Wash with Optimum No Rinse

Optimum No Rinse was developed in California, where legal regulations limit maximum water usage per car wash. To wash their car, one had to do it rinseless – without rinsing off the shampoo water. In the "rinseless wash," multiple microfiber towels soaked in Optimum No Rinse wash solution are used to clean the car and dry it afterwards.

To pre-soak the dirt, an Optimum No Rinse solution can be sprayed beforehand. There are many methods for rinseless washing. We recommend using Optimum No Rinse with two buckets, plenty of wash mitts, and drying towels.

Differences Between Waterless and Rinseless Car Wash

Optimum No Rinse can also be used as a concentrate for "waterless washing." This waterless washing method does away with wash buckets entirely. Dirt is tackled only with towels and a spray cleaner. Ultimately, you should decide for yourself when to perform a full car wash, a rinseless wash, or a waterless wash. For heavier dirt, a thorough wash with foam pre-wash, removal of bonded contaminants like tar and brake dust, and hand washing is always recommended. Light dirt can be removed waterlessly, while medium dirt can be tackled rinseless.
