Optimum No Rinse ONR Version 5 Wash & Shine is a car wash detergent that is also great for motorcycles, private planes, or boats. Optimum No Rinse is specifically designed for vehicle washing without needing to rinse the paint afterward. The polymer formula of Optimum No Rinse – known as ONR – forms a protective layer over the car's paint and encapsulates dirt particles. As a result, light soiling can be removed without scratches, and without having to rinse the vehicle.

How to Perform Rinse-less Car Washing with Optimum No Rinse

Optimum No Rinse was developed in California due to legal regulations on maximum water usage per car wash. Anyone wanting to wash their car had to do so rinseless, meaning without rinsing the wash water. The "rinseless wash" involves using several microfiber towels soaked with Optimum No Rinse wash solution to clean the car, followed by drying.

To loosen dirt beforehand, an Optimum No Rinse solution can be sprayed on in advance. There are many methods for rinse-less washing. We recommend washing with Optimum No Rinse using two buckets, plenty of wash mitts, and drying towels.

Differences Between Waterless and Rinseless Car Washing

Optimum No Rinse can also be used as a concentrate for "waterless washing." This waterless washing method does not involve wash buckets. Dirt is removed only with towels and a spray cleaner. You should decide when to conduct a complete car wash, a rinseless wash, and a waterless wash. For heavier soiling, a complete wash with foam pre-wash, iron fallout and tar removal, and hand washing is always recommended. Light soiling can be removed waterless, while moderate soiling can be eliminated rinseless.
